Halfords offer next day delivery on orders placed before 10am or customers can choose to have goods delivered on a day of their choice.

The Halfords site…ok, on first impressions it’s woah! there’s so much going on, hectic header graphic, moving bits, flashing bits, different fonts and graphics covering the screen – where do I look, what am I supposed to do next!

If you haven’t already guessed it, I’m describing the call-to-action…as in there isn’t one, or at least it isn’t terribly well defined. Halfords clearly offer a huge range of vehicle accessories and presenting them clearly is a challenge. On a positive note the flyout menus all work smoothly without issue, and once you’ve navigated beyond the Halfords home page the products listings are well laid out and not jumbled.

Looking to book your car in for a service with an online national servicing outfit?, Try NSN – National Car Service Network, they have a network of over 1,000 garages covering over 90% of the UK population.

NSN specialise in vehicle servicing, MOT testing and mechanical repairs for all makes and models of car.

NSN appear to be extremely competitive on price and claim they are on average 30% cheaper than main dealers.

The NSN web site is tidy looking fast to load and clear to understand in punchy paragraphs. There isn’t too much content to read is flashy images either. Make sure you read the T&Cs though; the link is hidden away in the footer area marked with an asterix.

The really clever bit is the booking process – the National Car Servicing web site searches on your car registration and return the make and model, plus costings for an MOT, interim and full car service, with additional up-sells. Seemed a bit pricey to me but you pays your money and makes your choice?
