Compare the Market car insurance review

How easy is finding car insurance on Compare the Market?

You’ve seen the annoying ads on the telly…it’s time to take a look and see if the web site is just as bad! Compare the Market is actually a very friendly web site. The call-to-action couldn’t be any clearer. The entry page has the enquiry form, and other than a car picture, not much else to distract the eye. The car insurance enquiry form is quick to fill in, although it does expand as you start to complete it, however there is nothing difficult to complete.

The car insurance results are returned in a simple to understand listing format, which also shows where staged insurance payments can apply which is handy.

My previous car inusurer was returned as number one, which was interesting as they told me when I changed my car that they couldn’t insure me on it…so the results aren’t 100% accurate – you’ll need to speak to the car insurer direct once you’ve decided who to use and make sure you qualify.

Worth getting a list of car insurance results though, even if the cheapest isn’t the best

Where to buy radio controlled car toys

Reviewing the Hamleys web site for car toys

Visit the exciting NEW website from Hamleys and choose from thousands of the latest toys, including all your favourite brands as well as our own Hamleys car toy collection, their quick and easy web site takes the hassle out of shopping, the Regent St experience has all the magic of Hamleys including competitions and a fun monthly newsletter. Welcome to the home of the finest toys in the world…online!

The Hamleys web site is very colourful, but technically not that good; there’s loads of javascript and mouse over effects which get a bit tiresome. Once you understand how to navigate around the site, finding rc car toys and general car toys is quite easy (follow the Vehicles link), and the listings page fairly uncluttered.

The Radio Controlled Range Rover car toy is a good example. The product image is big, there’s a nice nice and rotate feature however it is a bit thin on detail, although the pricing of the r/c car toy looks ok.

I’m quite sure if I was 10 years old again, looking for a radio controlled car toy, I’d love this site – it feels like the London shop too.

Generally then, the Hamleys store is ok, even if looks wise it is a bit behind the times. You can quickly find car toys, the menu flyouts are fast, the product information easy to read, and adding to cart (’bag’) / the buying process quick.

Top Gear Magazine Subscription

Car Magazines and more from Unique Magazine

At Unique Magazines, they work with all the major publishing houses giving you a one-stop-shop for a vast number of car magazine subscriptions. Unique Magazines have over 1000 titles on their web site so there are magazines to cater for all types of audiences. However, unlike many 3rd party subscription agents, Unique Magazines also list titles from many smaller and relatively unknown publishers which is nice, and have developed a range of subscriptions not available anywhere else including Take a Break magazine and many children’s comics.

Most recently, Unique Magazines have also added a range of car magazine products which compliment the magazine titles we have on the site. For example, books, annuals and calendars. This proves hugely popular at special occasions such as Christmas, when customers will buy a magazine subscription along with a calendar or annual to give on Christmas day.

The Unique Magazine web site is laid out in three columns and is a pretty standard set up; the only negative comment woudl be the changing header banner colours – from black to red – which is particularly annoying.

Magazine ‘deeplinks’:

Mens Lifestyle | Zoo, FHM, GQ, Nuts, Loaded, 442 …
Sports & Outdoors Mags | Footballs, Motorsports, Running, Darts …
BBC Mags | Top Gear, Who Do You Think You Are, History, Countryfile, Good Food …
Hobbies | Music, Modelling, Trains, Stamps, Aviation, Woodwork …

Enter the Unique Magazine Subscription Give Away Competition

Every month Unique Magazines give away a magazine subscription. You just tell Unique Magazine which car magazine you would like (up to a value of £40), and if you are the lucky winner they will give you that subscription free.

The Unique Magazines competition is very simple. There are no tricky questions or fact hunting exercises, just submit your details to be entered into the monthly draw.

Only 1 entry per day is allowed, but you can come back every day and submit an entry, giving you more chances to win.
