Thruxton Race Track web site

Thruxton Motorsport Centre, Hampshire

Can I book a trackday at Thruxton?

Once you get past the awful video on the Thruxton Motorsport Centre home page (there is a better internal home page) the site is good; its clean and modern looking with cool roll over effects when considering which sports car you want to drive around Thruxton circuit.

There is also loads of choice of super cars to drive, and the booking process looks dead easy.

Be warned; Thruxton is a really FAST track!

This is my local track, and I’ve watched lots of racing here, most recently the BSB boys (British Superbikes). High average top speeds and fast crashes. Fortunately the Thruxton circuit give you ample training before unleashing you on the trackday

AutoExpress rated the Thruxton track highly in ‘06 as a ‘best buy’ too

Dad driving experience days

Great trackday ideas for Father’s Day

Always worth keeping an eye on this trackdays web site; Buyagift.co.uk regularly updates their content and adds new offers. At the time of posting this blog, Father’s Day is rapidly approaching! My Dad is bobbing about in the Arctic on an adventure holiday (!!!) but your’s might be interested in something closer to home, thrashing a supercar around a race track on a trackday for example! I’ve grouped some Father’s Day trackday ideas below, which might be useful – the trackday voucher does come in a snazzy aluminum presentation box too, so looks pretty cool.

» Silverstone Choice Voucher for Two – £149 (Save £100)

» Buyagift Exclusive: Special offer Supercars – £75
» Personalised Football Archive Books – £49
» Harness Sphereing for Two Father’s Day Offer – £47.50
» 25% off personalised Top Gear posters – £59
» Football Stadium Tours – From £10
» Ferrari Thrill at Silverstone – £99
» Half Price Zapcat Blast for One – £49.50

The page is rather in-your-face with lots there, but it is pretty easy to navigate your ways about and find an interesting offer. Clicking a trackday driving category that interests you opens up a list of matching driving experience days for you to choose from. Selecting a trackday driving day opens the details page which is well put together with plenty of information, maps pictures and a description of the car you’ll be driving how the day pans out and information on the circuit you’ll be bombing about on. Not only do you get a clear view on the price but also reviews from other Dad’s who went on the trackday.

If you’re looking for two wheeled action on a motorcycle trackday, Buyagift.co.uk run a bike trackday at Scotland’s Knockhill circuit. Click Here to visit the Knockhill motorbike trackday info page.

Buying Jenson Button F1 gifts

Can Jenson Button be F1 World Champion?…Oh yes he can!

Jenson Button is a super star in my opinion; a nice guy, feet firmly planted on the ground and has done the hard graft mileage in the Benetton, BAR and Honda cars before being given one which actually works. He kept his nose clean in that time and got on with the job and is now showing the other team managers (who had written Button off) his natural F1 skills.

I expect to see him win at Silverstone next, and wrap the title up soon. Hopefully in 2010 the teams (once they’ve had their heads banged together) will have a more competitive championship – with Lola and Lotus! – with Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button able to go toe to toe for a change oh and with some pesky Ferrari’s for company!

Where was I? Oh yes, I was taking a look at F1 supplies super store Kitbag.co.uk…can I buy Jenson Button F1 gifts here?

The short answer is no, I guess because the F1 gift manufacturers looked at Lewis as the main bread winner, and Jenson as washed up…wrong!

Kitbag.co.uk are a UK based company who sell sporting gifts from F1 and motorsports to football based gifts such as your favourite football team’s kit. Have to say, I’m not overly keen on the web site. It’s built in ASP.net and just doesn’t look classy enough. I’d love to sort the kitbag.co.uk site out properly with a cleaner navigation system and better ‘look and feel’ as I think it deserves it.

If you’ve got a few thousand quid, you can buy a fantastic mini Lewis Hamilton F1 scale car – in fine detail., but no Jenson Button F1 gifts yet, which is a poor show but they’ll be coming! Bottom line with this site is that it is easy to use, but looks cheaply produced, which is a shame. 6/10 guys.
